What are sperm selection techniques?

These are techniques that allow us to optimise sperm samples, helping with fertilisation, even in the most severe cases, because the truth is, nowadays the quality of semen is worsening and more than 40% of infertility cases are due to the male factor.

Depending on the result of the sperm analysis, we carry out specific techniques such as Swim-up and Fertile-Chip (to select the most capable spermatozoa) or MACS (to eliminate dead or dying spermatozoa).

When is it used?

Men with sperm problems

Samples with poor sperm motility or concentration.

Necrozoospermia

When a high percentage of sperm in a semen sample are dead.

Males aged 47 and over

As they may have a high percentage of sperm DNA double-stranded fragmentation.

Patients with repeated miscarriages

Also for those with a history of failed treatments, or embryonic blockage from day 3 onwards.

Benefits of using sperm selection techniques

Improvement of embryo quality

Increased implantation rate

Reduced risk of genetic abnormalities

Lower risk of miscarriage

¿What can we expect from the results?

The use of these advanced sperm selection techniques can significantly improve embryo quality, implantation rates and the chances of an evolving pregnancy.
