What is a fertility study?
These are a series of tests and analysis that allow us to rule out the main causes of infertility, make an accurate diagnosis of your case and draw up a personalised plan for you to achieve pregnancy.
It is indicated if you have been trying to get pregnant for twelve months, or six months if you are over 35. However, if there is a known or suspected cause of infertility (endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, altered seminogram), a consultation should be booked as soon as possible.
What does it consist of?

For approximately one hour, one of our gynaecologists will study your case, circumstances, background and history.

An ultrasound test to assess the uterus, endometrium and ovaries (size, number of antral follicles) is carried out.

A blood test carried out between the 1st and 3rd day of the menstrual cycle to assess both ovarian reserve and hormonal alterations.

To count the number of spermatozoa and observe their motility and morphology in the male partner.
What to expect from the results?
You will receive a diagnosis of your fertility and a medical report with a treatment proposal. Depending on the results or your medical history, additional tests such as hysterosalpingography (a study of the uterine cavity and the permeability of the fallopian tubes) may be necessary.
